What is VOC Testing & Mitigation

VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) testing and mitigation is similar to radon mitigation, where systems are put in place to reduce harmful chemicals in the air, soil, and water. Harmful vapors can also leach into buildings from the surrounding environment, building materials, vent pipes etc., affecting air quality and causing long-term health concerns including:

• Irritation of eyes, nose, and throat
• Nausea

Our Process

The Professional Home Inspection Services team follows a comprehensive set of tests to determine where vapor intrusion has occurred. Our technicians conduct a T0-15 test, ambient air tests, and sub-slab tests to determine if harmful vapors have integrated into the physical building or if they are present in the surrounding ground and soil.

Once a thorough investigation has been conducted, all samples are analyzed in a lab and a report is provided detailing the expected sources of harmful chemical vapors. We test for over 100 different chemicals to ensure we don’t miss anything.
