I had a very good experience with this company. The inspector was very thorough and when asked, he answered questions quickly and easy to understand. I would suggest getting the whole package though. Radon, wood boring insects and basic inspection. I’m glad I did. I was about to purchase a house with radon.
Added Inspection and Testing Services
Even though our home inspections are the most thorough, some other testing services are available to provide a more complete picture of your home. We are also happy to offer these services independent of an inspection. These tests are discounted when performed with an inspection.
Wood Destroying Insect Inspections
Termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, and carpenter bees can cause significant, expensive damage to a home. All are active in our area. Some neighborhoods in our area have a high incidence of termites with as many as one out of five houses having active or previous infestations. We are DEC certified to find these insects and any damage they may have done.
Well Water Testing
A clean, safe and reliable water supply is critical. Our firm provides professional well water sampling and well yield testing. Our firm provides professional well and spring water sampling for a wide variety of potential contaminates. Regular testing is required for public and commercial water supplies and is usually required when financing or refinancing residences supplied by private well water. In addition, testing is highly recommended when gas well exploration activities are imminent. We have a long term relationship with Microbac Laboratories, Inc, in Waverly, NY, assuring quality service and a quick turn around time for water testing in New York State and Pennsylvania.
Septic systems are expensive to replace and often have a limited life. Our septic system tests help provide assurance that a septic system is functioning adequately.
The EPA recommends that homeowners hire inspectors to examine their septic systems at least every three years.
Radon gas is prevalent in our area. Most buyers elect to have the home tested for radon when inspected.
Mold, lead, and asbestos testing
Issues regarding these environmental concerns are common and may be discussed in the course of your home inspection. Please see our environmental testing page for more details.
